Insomnia: How badly can it mess up CBL?
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

How can a person's dieting past effect their success, or lack there of, on CNS/CBL? For instance if  person has a past of crash dieting (through extreme caloric deficits), but has since gained the weight back what would they do differently than someone who never damaged their metabolism in this way.

What's your take on sodium? Does it matter? What's a good tactic to avoid water retention?

Obviously you endorse SW as the ideal way to weight train, but what are some other programs that you think are decent? What routines have you followed in the past with success?

would CBL still work if I train at 3 pm, start backloading carbs at arround 4:30 pm until 5:30 pm and not eating anything after that until the next day?(because I work 3 times a week at 6pm and cant really eat anything until the next day at arround noon)

with best regards to the Übermensch Kiefer
and Alex

You've mentioned you've had a chat with Tim Ferriss in one of your local cafes.

What is your opinion of his Slow Carb diet? How are people going from >20% BF% to around 11% on a diet that includes carbohydrates in the form of legumes, while gorging once a week on high-GI carbs?

And...

What is your opinion on his mass gaining diet and program (which he used to gain 34lbs of muscle in 28 days)?

Wasn't sure if you answered my question from podcast #12 or not, and if the podcast won't be recovered, can you please reanswer these questions if you haven't?

Kiefer: For someone doing density bulking without much need for fat loss right now, would spiking insulin pre-workout via leucine or higher doses of whey isolate be beneficial for delivering nutrients to muscles? If beneficial, would coconut oil still be recommended here?

Also, what projects are you currently working on now?

And finally, you've said before that it's best to wait 2 hours or so after working out to start the backload, can you explain this reasoning again? Wouldn't the glut4 translocation factors be inactivated after this?

I just re-listened to the podcast labeled 4/24 with Alex and I'm glad she will be on again. After doing CBL for a month and a half I've discovered I have some of the same "issues" that she was having.

One if them being putting on too much muscle (I'm actually ok with it for now but I wonder where it's going?...is there a point where it just levels off for women?)
The other being that I feel like I'm not doing enough in the gym if I'm there less than 1.5-2 hours...just years of training a certain way which is very hard to change. I've been highly recommended to drop that to an hour or so by many people in the forum. I'm trying! I did wonder if Alex is:

1. Still doing Shockwave and keeping her workouts shorter?
2. Do any HIIT?
3. Use CBL or CNS or something different entirely?
4. What are her favorite CBL foods, that she likes/finds effective (if she does CBL)

:)

Definitely more information on taking someone from the 8-10% range to the 4-6% range or even stage ready.  I know you've mentioned that any more than 2 hours of cardio a week is moronic so I assume this can be done almost solely through CBL/CNS manipulation.

Also - thoughts on how to use CBL for power-endurance athletes such as middle distance runners, pursuit cyclists, rowers?

What's the maximum amount of time someone can be on CNS without a break, and how long should the break be?

Can you lose weight on carbnite while not in a calorie deficit. There's been a lot of discussions on forum about this lately. What are the recommendations?

Please clear this up kiefer

I'm having wrist surgery in one week. I started the Detox Diet yesterday and I intend to run it for the rest of the week and for one week following the surgery?

Should I go back to regular eating after the  surgery or can I continue with the anti-inflammatory detox?

Kiefer and DH crew,

Love the podcast, its sounding better and better every time. Keep it up! I listen to some other podcasts from time to time and none sound as good as yours, even with a few glitches now and then.

Regarding central nervous system recovery/care, what are good supps to use for someone who went overboard with pre-workouts and caffein, mixed with overtraining and poor diet. you mentioned you may have a recovery blend at some point any updates? i would deffinetly be interested in that.

Thanks for sharing all you have, you guys rock!

Why does it take so long to heal on Carb Nite, from cuts, bruises, and wounds?

And does this also mean the central nervous system is hindered as well?

If so how can one combat this?

I tend to avoid eating on non-training days until roughly 5 PM.. I get my fat intake throughout the day from heavy cream and coconut oil mixed in with my coffee.. Kiefer, I do recall you stating that it is total protein intake for the day that is important, versus having any sort of steady flow of amino acids to the muscles.  Which leads me to my question.  If I trained the day prior at roughly 3 or 4 PM, is it detrimental to muscle growth to be abstaining from protein sources for so long, assuming that muscle protein synthesis elevates and peaks sometime within a 24 hour window after training?  Furthermore, if the above scenario is correct, should it be a considering factor when my current goal is fat loss while retaining muscle mass?

Note: I am currently on carb-nite, and I do meet my fat/protein requirements for the day of my resistance training.  My question refers to not eating any whole foods or protein sources the day after my training until roughly 5 P.M.
